The Hacker Space Brisbane: A place where anything is possible

Ever had a super awesome idea to build something amazing, but lacked the space, tools or knowledge to make it happen? I know I have. But now I've discovered a place where anything is possible, a place where big ideas and creative people come together to build amazing stuff.

The Hacker Space Brisbane, or HSBNE for short, is a not-for-profit organisation designed to encourage tinkering of all kinds – whether it be creating a battery powered bike and trailer for use as a Steampunk themed coffee cart, melting soft drink cans to recycle aluminium or wiring up a top hat with flashing LEDs.

Situated in an industrial and previously abandoned set of warehouses overlooking the Brisbane River, the space houses a collection of large machinery and useful equipment, including 3D printers and laser cutters as well as welding, blacksmithing and woodworking areas.

Not only that, but the space is home to a unique collection of friendly individuals keen to share their knowledge and skills with others. Head on over to the HSBNE website for more info.

Now that I've found a place where anything is possible, my fingers are itching to start tinkering...

Watch this space!
